Learn How to Store Chocolate, Bread, Ketchup, and Mayonnaise
Every food in the world has a specific storage place.
However, there are cases where the storage location is not clear, or the storage methods differ for each item.
So today, we'll look at how to store a few food items as examples.
First, chocolate.
Chocolate melts easily at high temperatures!
Because of this, many people tend to store it in the refrigerator.
However, it's best to store chocolate in a cool, dry place.
If you take chocolate out of the refrigerator and leave it at room temperature, a phenomenon called ‘sugar bloom’ occurs,
where a white powdery substance forms on the surface of the chocolate.
For bread, even just looking around, there are various storage methods such as room temperature, freezing, and refrigeration.
In fact, bread should be stored in a cool, dark place to properly control humidity.
If stored in the refrigerator, the starch molecules in the bread recrystallize faster than at room temperature, causing it to spoil more quickly.
And for ketchup and mayonnaise,
it's recommended to use them within 8 weeks after refrigeration.
However, this is just a general quality maintenance period;
it's generally fine to store them for up to 6 months after opening.
