Laundry Tips for the Rainy Season

1. Boil or use bleach

The cause of unpleasant odors from laundry is Moraxella bacteria.

These Moraxella bacteria can be eliminated at temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius, so it's good to boil towels and laundry.

Using oxygen-based bleach can also be a solution.

2. Use a dryer or iron

It's not easy to completely dry laundry in humid weather.

A dryer is great to use at this time.

Not only can it dry laundry in a short time, but it also uses heat

to provide a sanitizing effect.

However, if electricity costs are a concern, you can use an iron or a hairdryer

for quick drying and sanitization.

3. Dehumidify your wardrobe

Is it enough to just dry your clothes well? No.

The humidity inside your wardrobe can make your clothes damp again,

so dehumidifiers in the wardrobe are essential, especially for winter clothes and blankets, which are prone to mold during the summer.

You can use commercial dehumidifiers, or make your own with calcium chloride and newspaper, thoroughly dried tea bags,

or coffee grounds, replacing them after a certain period. This method is also OK.

4. Clean your washing machine

If the inside of your washing machine isn't clean, impurities won't be removed effectively from your laundry.

Instead, secondary contamination can occur inside the washing machine,

so it's good to regularly remove residue from the washing machine

and separately clean detachable parts like the detergent dispenser.

When cleaning the washing machine, run it with only water,

adding baking soda and vinegar to sanitize the interior of the machine.
