Many patients who visit our clinic for implant consultations have delayed treatment for a long time.

There are various reasons for this, but among them, past dental treatment experiences often leave a trauma,

making anesthesia very difficult or keeping their mouth open for a long time very challenging.

I also had a difficult time with anesthesia and keeping my mouth open during dental treatment when I was young,

so I make an effort to administer anesthesia painlessly, taking ample time.

To briefly explain our clinic's anesthesia system:

To reduce the pain when the needle of the anesthetic injection touches the gums, we perform primary anesthesia using anesthetic ointment and anesthetic gargle solution.

For those who still have a fear of anesthesia, we administer anesthesia using a machine that controls the injection speed of the anesthetic solution.

Sometimes patients ask if it doesn't hurt at all with the anesthesia machine,

but it's a machine that helps minimize the unpleasant sensation when the anesthetic solution enters, as you can still feel it.

I have a lot of implants to get.

The patient finally gathered the courage to visit after being unable to come to the dentist for a very long time.

They mentioned that they were reluctant to visit the dentist due to a past memory of severe jaw discomfort during treatment.

The missing molar area requires an implant, and in addition to that area,

there are multiple cavities in the front teeth, and some teeth show a high possibility of needing root canal treatment depending on the location.

If the period of tooth loss is prolonged, the opposing teeth may over-erupt,

and to create an ideal occlusion after implant placement, intentional crown treatment may be necessary,

sometimes accompanied by root canal treatment depending on the amount of tooth eruption.

First, we placed the implants, which take a long time.

In the areas where severely inflamed roots were removed, implants were placed simultaneously with bone grafting and then buried within the gums.

Now, during the period when the implants integrate with the bone, we begin treating the surrounding cavities.

Since there were multiple cavities and to avoid keeping the mouth open for a long time in one go, we increased the number of visits for treatment.

With the patient's good cooperation, we completed each treatment one by one.

The resin areas are a bit noticeable in places.

These teeth were scheduled for root canal treatment,

but after prioritizing cavity removal, they were restored with resin to observe the symptoms.

Fortunately, we were able to save them without root canal treatment.

Actually, for areas with such large cavity ranges, from an aesthetic perspective, crown treatment would be more suitable;

however, since the patient had no major symptoms or discomfort, we decided to explain future crown or material replacement options and proceed as is.

In conjunction with taking impressions for the implants, the significantly over-erupted teeth underwent intentional root canal treatment followed by prosthetic treatment.

On the last day, the patient must have worked hard, but I also felt proud.

When we first started the treatment, I was worried if it would last for a long time,

but the patient cooperated well, and as the number of visits increased, they seemed to become much more comfortable with the treatment, which reassured me.

Because the period of tooth absence was long, time is needed to stabilize the temporomandibular joint even after implant restoration.

An awkward feeling when chewing in that area,

pain in the opposing teeth due to sudden chewing activity,

biting the cheek or tongue, etc.

These situations can occur initially,

and frequent visits are necessary for regular check-ups, including occlusion checks and temporomandibular joint checks.

I will meticulously check through regular check-ups to ensure you can eat well without any problems in the future.
