Male Rhinoplasty: A One-Month Real Review and Case Analysis

Hello, this is VAVA Plastic Surgery.

Today, we would like to discuss male rhinoplasty by explaining the case of a male patient who visited our clinic, having decided on surgery due to self-consciousness and complexes about his hooked nose and bulbous tip.

Hooked Nose & Bulbous Tip

🔎Problem

This patient was undergoing his first nose surgery. From the front, his nose tip was blunt and wide, making his nose appear spread out (bulbous tip). From the side, he had a prominent bone on his nasal bridge, making it uneven and not smooth, along with a drooping tip (hooked nose).

🔎Desired Line

The patient desired a nose line similar to actor Ji Chang-wook, aiming for a sharp nasal bridge with a strong, masculine, straight line.

🔎Surgical Plan & Improvement Results

First Rhinoplasty

Surgical Plan: Silicone implant, hooked nose correction, bulbous tip correction, lateral osteotomy, columella lowering

Cartilage Used: Septal cartilage, ear cartilage

Silicone: 6mm

The line was designed as a straight line to emphasize masculinity.

After surgery, the bulbous tip, which made the nose appear blunt from the front, and the uneven nasal bridge, which was curved from the side, were refined to be slender and smooth.

We achieved the desired straight line.

*Nasal packing and gauze under the nose are removed on the second day after surgery. The splint and stitches are removed during a visit on the seventh day.*

If you are considering male rhinoplasty, it is essential to select and design an appropriate surgical method based on your current nose height, angle, width, skin thickness, and specific concerns, to predict harmonious and natural rhinoplasty results.

At VAVA Plastic Surgery, we perform various types of rhinoplasty using diverse implants and surgical techniques tailored to individual facial conditions, allowing for shaping of the nose tip, bridge, and nostrils. All surgeries are safely and accurately performed by board-certified plastic surgeons with extensive experience, having completed over 6,000 cases. Furthermore, minimal incisions and meticulous suturing result in almost invisible scars, and shortened surgery times lead to faster recovery.

To achieve improved results through more accurate consultation for male rhinoplasty, we conduct profile rhinoplasty program analysis.

Our VAVA Profile Rhinoplasty System classifies ideal nose types into four main categories. The male model introduced above underwent male rhinoplasty with the HSIA type.

1. HSIO

A glamorous straight line with a nasal bridge almost straight from the glabella to the tip, and a high nose tip.

2. HCIO

A natural semi-straight line with a nasal bridge that draws a straight line from the glabella to the tip, and a high nose tip with a gentle curve.

3. HSIA

A masculine straight line with a nasal bridge almost straight from the glabella to the tip, and a high nose tip.

4. LCIO

A natural semi-upward curved line with a gently curved nasal bridge and nose tip.

Male rhinoplasty is not simply about ‘making it pretty’ but focuses on achieving a masculine impression and natural harmony.

To fulfill this, a straight line of HSIO or HDIA type can emphasize an angular image and sharpness, but it is crucial to proceed considering the individual's face shape and the proportions of their features.

There was a time when plastic surgery was considered a prerogative of women, but now, many men are also considering plastic surgery as an extension of self-care.

Especially the nose, which greatly influences one's impression, is one of the most inquired-about areas among men recently.

Plastic surgery is not just about changing one's appearance; it is also a means to love oneself more by taking better care of oneself.

This concludes our discussion on male rhinoplasty. Thank you! ^^
