With this interesting topic, an interview request was once again made to Director Yeom Dong-ju of Gangnam Smile Eye Clinic.
Why do seniors stare for such a long time?
The Sotamdaesil team was curious about this reason!
Regarding this topic, Director Yeom Dong-ju of Gangnam Smile Eye Clinic stated,
‘While there can be various reasons,
I believe that ‘cognitive’ issues due to vision decline are quite possible.
Cases where the time it takes to recognize objects or people can be longer than expected
can be easily considered from a medical perspective.’

He explained that ‘light reflected from an object is well transmitted into the eye,
and the converted electrical signals are transmitted to the brain via nerve cells called neurons.
If there is an abnormality in any part of this process, the time it takes to recognize an object
can become longer.’
