1. Epidemic Keratoconjunctivitis
An acute inflammatory conjunctival disease caused by the adenovirus.
Symptoms include:
Redness, moderate pain,
Foreign body sensation (feeling something in the eye),
Eye discharge, tearing, and externally,
Conjunctival hyperemia, conjunctival edema,
Eyelid swelling (puffiness), etc.
Infection routes include:
Direct contact with an infected person,
Contact with objects used by an infected person,
And places like swimming pools and public baths.
2. Apollo Eye Disease (Acute Hemorrhagic Conjunctivitis)
It is commonly called ‘Apollo Eye Disease’ because it first became epidemic in Ghana, Africa, in 1969, the year Apollo 11 landed on the moon.
Symptoms include:
Pain, foreign body sensation (feeling something in the eye),
Tearing, and externally,
Conjunctival hyperemia, conjunctival edema,
Subconjunctival hemorrhage,
Follicles, eyelid swelling (puffiness), etc.
Infection routes include:
Direct contact with an infected person,
Contact with contaminated hands or objects,
And places like swimming pools and public baths.

Wash your hands thoroughly immediately after returning from an outing, and always wash your hands before going to bed, as you unconsciously rub your eyes while sleeping.
