Hangeul Day commemorates King Sejong's creation and promulgation of Hunminjeongeum,
and it is a day to celebrate the excellence of Hangeul, our written language.

it was the beginning of Hangeul Day,
and was renamed ‘Hangeul Day’ in 1928.
After liberation, it was fixed on October 9th (solar calendar),
