*Preparation Materials*

Essential items

·You must bring your admission ticket and a photo ID on the day of the exam.

·If you lose your admission ticket, be sure to re-issue it before the entry time to avoid any disruption to the exam.

·Lunch is not provided, and there are no clocks in the examination room, so prepare in advance.

·Strictly adhere to the examination room's quarantine guidelines, including wearing a mask inside the examination venue.

·Black computer-use sign pens and mechanical pencils (black, 0.5mm) are provided uniformly in the examination room, and five white correction tapes for answer sheet correction are held by the invigilator in each examination room and can be used upon request.

Prohibited items in the examination room

·All electronic devices, including mobile phones, smart devices (smartwatches, etc.), digital cameras, electronic dictionaries, MP3 players, tablet PCs, camera pens, electronic calculators, radios, portable media players, watches with communication/payment functions (Bluetooth, etc.) or electronic display screens (LCD, LED, etc.), e-cigarettes, earphones with communication (Bluetooth) functions, etc.

Permitted items to carry

·ID card, admission ticket, black computer-use sign pen, white correction tape, black pencil, eraser, mechanical pencil lead (black, 0.5mm), analog watch with hour, minute (second) hands that has no communication/payment functions (Bluetooth, etc.) and no electronic display screen (LCD, LED, etc.), mask (pre-checked by invigilator), etc.

Caution

·Items confiscated if found during the exam: transparent paper (aka tracing paper), scratchpad, personal mechanical pencil, plus pen for preliminary marking, ballpoint pen, etc.

·Items immediately treated as cheating if found during the exam: textbooks, reference books, past exam papers, etc.

·All items other than permitted items must be placed in a bag and submitted at the front of the examination room before the start of each period.

*Precautions*

·You must participate in the preliminary briefing, which is conducted by the Superintendent of Education of each city/province on the day before the exam. The date and location are indicated on the application receipt.

·During the preliminary briefing, confirm your admission ticket (check selected subjects), precautions, and the examination venue and room where you will take the exam (entry is prohibited to maintain quarantine conditions, so follow the school's guidance).

·Exam management, including examination room assignment, exam execution, and supervision, is handled by the City/Provincial Office of Education. For related matters, contact the relevant Office of Education.

·On the day of the exam, all students must enter the examination room by 08:10 (entry permitted from 6:30 AM) to receive student precautions. Students who did not select the 1st period will move to the waiting area according to the invigilator's guidance.

·In case a mask change is needed during the exam, an extra mask can be carried after pre-inspection by the invigilator.

·You must write the phrase provided in the handwriting verification section of the answer sheet for each period and follow the invigilator's identity verification procedure.

·Students must only solve problems for the areas and subjects they selected when filling out the application form (you cannot arbitrarily change selected subjects during the exam time).

·The 4th period proceeds with the 탐구 (Inquiry) area exam after the Korean History area exam. The Korean History area exam time is 30 minutes, and after the Korean History area ends, there is a 15-minute period for collecting question/answer sheets and for students who did not select the 탐구 (Inquiry) area to move to the waiting room.

·The examination time for the 탐구 (Inquiry) area is 30 minutes per subject, with a 2-minute question paper collection time at the end of each subject.

·Applicants for the 탐구 (Inquiry) area must write and take the subjects they selected in order.

Meaning of CSAT Gifts

-Yeot (Korean traditional taffy) and Chapssaltteok (Glutinous rice cake)

Both yeot and chapssaltteok are gifts that symbolize ‘sticking’ to college.

The sweetness of yeot is also said to be good for relieving abdominal pain caused by tension.

-Fork and Dart

Forks and darts are gifts with the meaning of ‘guessing well’ (referring to multiple-choice questions)!

Usually, forks or fork-shaped chocolates are often given as gifts,

but sometimes toy axes or axe-shaped chocolates are also given.

In addition to the classic gifts above,

recently, it's common to prepare items that might be needed on the day of the exam in advance,

or gifts that are good to use after the CSAT,
