Hybrid Lifting
A 60s female patient with thin skin and prominent cheekbones underwent Hybrid Lifting — scalp mini-incision plus thread lift — achieving far better results than her prior thread lift.

* Basic Information
· Female patient in her 60s
· Chief concerns: sagging in the jowl area on both sides and marionette lines around the mouth
· Prominent cheekbones
· Thin skin
· Had thread lifting done at another clinic 2–3 years ago; was unhappy with the outcome as her cheekbones appeared larger and her face looked harsher afterward
* Consultation
· Achieving satisfying results with thread lifting is particularly challenging in patients with thin skin and prominent cheekbones.
· The threads may become palpable or visible through the skin along their path.
· Additionally, as the tissue is pulled upward, the cheekbones can become even more prominent, giving the face a harsh, knobby appearance.
· For this reason, I recommended 'Hybrid Lifting' — which combines a mini incision within the scalp with thread lifting — rather than a standard thread lift alone.
· Recommending another procedure to a patient who was already dissatisfied with a previous thread lift calls for a great deal of extra care and consideration — and it means I need to be all the more meticulous as the surgeon. ^^;

Hybrid Lifting

* Post-Procedure Progress
· Thanks to the mini incision approach, the cheekbones did not appear any more prominent following the procedure.
· The threads were placed at a sufficient depth to maximally elevate the SMAS layer, and there were no complications such as palpable or protruding threads.
· She is significantly more satisfied and happier with her results compared to her previous lifting procedure. :)
* Key Points
1. Carefully identifying appropriate candidates for thread lifting is the single most important factor.
2. Hybrid Lifting addresses the drawbacks of conventional thread lifting (such as an enlarged appearance of the cheekbones and visible skin irregularities).
3. It can dramatically enhance both the degree of lift achieved and the longevity of results.
4. If you are concerned about the significant scarring and lengthy recovery time associated with open lifting procedures such as MACS, Hybrid Lifting may be an excellent alternative.
Consultations and procedures should always be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon!
