Because the tip is wide, fat is removed and the cartilage is gathered

to transform a blunt-looking nose line into a sharp one.

Alar Reduction

This refers to a nose where the nostrils (alae) are large and spread sideways.

If the nostrils are excessively large compared to the rest of the nose, it can create a dull impression.

In this case, a portion of the widely spread nostril tissue is removed,

the tissue is rearranged, and then fine sutures are applied to minimize visible scarring.
