Achieving a Sophisticated Nose Line with Short Nose Revision and Alar Retraction! :D
A case study of a 50s female patient who corrected a short, upturned nose and asymmetrical nostrils through revision rhinoplasty and alar retraction.

* Basic Information
# Female in her 50s
# Medical History: Previous rhinoplasty using implants and ear cartilage
# Complaints: The nose looks short, blunt, and upturned. Specifically, the right nostril looks pinched and pulled up, causing severe asymmetry :(
* Consultation
# The patient visited to correct a short nose. A slight degree of contracture was present.
# Not only were the nostrils overly visible, but the right nostril appeared pinched, which was a major source of stress due to the asymmetry.
# To correct the short nose caused by contracture and address the nostril asymmetry, we planned for alar retraction (alar rim lowering) alongside the revision.
* Surgical Plan
# Revision Rhinoplasty
- Tip Plasty (Bulbous & Short Nose Correction)
- Bridge Implant Replacement
# Alar Retraction (Alar Rim Lowering)

* Post-operative Progress
# By improving the short nose, a much more sophisticated and sleekly extended nose line was achieved, and the patient was very satisfied.
# She was especially pleased that the excessively upturned nostrils were naturally lowered and the asymmetry was corrected through alar retraction!
# Correcting a short nose caused by contracture is one of the most difficult types of rhinoplasty. When combined with alar retraction, nostril visibility is reduced, leading to highly satisfying results.
Consultations and surgeries should be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon!
