# To achieve a truly satisfying lifting effect, an incision is made from the temple, through the sideburns, around the ear, and extending toward the neck to remove both the sagging SMAS layer and excess skin. By following the hairline and the natural curves in front of the ear, scarring can be minimized.
# A definitive lifting effect is only possible when the retaining ligaments are sufficiently dissected, and the most lax portion of the SMAS layer is firmly pulled and fixated.
