Double Eyelid Surgery: Find the Style That Suits You Best Before Deciding!
Learn about different double eyelid surgery techniques (natural adhesion vs. incision) and crease types (In-line, In-out, Out-line) to find your perfect look.

Hello.
This is VIBE Plastic Surgery.
Double eyelids are a crucial element that makes the eyes look clearer and more sophisticated.
Because double eyelid surgery has become so common, many people perceive it as a ‘light’ or simple procedure.
However, the results of eye surgery can vary significantly based on subtle differences in surgical methods and the skill of the medical staff.

The first thing to do before double eyelid surgery is to check the condition of the tissues around the eyes.
By identifying the skin thickness of the eyelids and the amount of fat, a surgical plan must be established that fits your current facial features.
Types of Double Eyelid Surgery

In the case of Natural Adhesion:
This method involves tying and fixing the eyelid to the levator muscle through microscopic holes. Since no incision is made, recovery is fast, and there is minimal swelling and bruising.
Who is a good candidate?
- Those with thin eyelid skin and little fat
- Those whose double eyelids have simply come undone or appear as multiple layers
- Those who need fine line correction
- Those who look tired or have a dark impression
- Those who are burdened by the incision method

In the case of Incision/Partial Incision:
This method creates a double eyelid by incising the eyelid and removing unnecessary fat. For those with ptosis (droopy eyelids), the incision method can provide more definitive surgical results.
Who is a good candidate?
- Those with thick eyelid skin and a lot of fat
- Those with severe ptosis
- Those whose eyelids have lost elasticity and are sagging
- Those who need revision surgery due to loosening or side effects
- Those whose double eyelid line repeatedly appears and disappears

In-line Type
- Deep-set eyes
- Eyes with thin eyelid skin
- Eyes where the Mongolian fold is tucked inward
- Eyes with a narrow gap between the eye and eyebrow
In-out Line Type
- Eyes with an appropriate gap between the eye and eyebrow
- Eyes where the eyeball does not protrude
- Eyes where the Mongolian fold is not tucked in
- Eyes that are not deep-set
Out-line Type
- Eyes where the eyeball is protruding
- Eyes with thin eyelid skin and no fat
- Eyes with a wide gap between the eye and eyebrow
- Eyes that are naturally long horizontally
What if you have multiple layers after surgery?

If the line is caught in two or more layers, the following should be suspected:
- Is the eye-opening strength still weak?
If the eye-opening strength is weak, the line may not settle into one and can form multiple layers.
- Is there too little fat in the upper eyelid?
If there is no fat in the upper eyelid, that area can become sunken, causing multiple folds.
- Is there severe adhesion from a previous surgery?
Adhesion from a previous double eyelid surgery can also cause multiple folds.
In such cases, the adhesion of the previous line must be released, and fat repositioning or fat grafting should be performed to prevent multiple folds from forming.
