Today, I would like to introduce a ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty case for a female patient in her mid-20s.

This patient originally had a soft eye shape and a good impression, but she had several concerns:

Asymmetry between both eyes,

1️⃣ Partial Incision Ptosis Correction

Ptosis correction is a surgery that strengthens the muscles used to open the eyes (levator palpebrae superioris) to improve a sleepy-looking impression.

Since this patient did not have thick skin and was concerned about scarring, we used the ‘partial incision method,’ which combines the advantages of both incisional and non-incisional techniques.

Through this method, we strengthened the eye-opening power to create a clear and refreshed eye shape.

2️⃣ Epicanthoplasty (Inner Corner Surgery)

In this case, the reason the eyes looked wide-set was due to skin folds (Mongolian folds).

Therefore, through epicanthoplasty, we extended the horizontal length of the eyes and naturally narrowed the distance between them.

We meticulously planned the design phase to not only narrow the gap but also achieve balance and a refreshed impression simultaneously.

👁 Post-Surgical Changes

Immediately after surgery, her impression brightened as her eye-opening power improved, and as the swelling subsided, a natural in-out line settled in.

In particular, as the asymmetry was corrected, the balance between both eyes improved, making the overall facial harmony much softer and clearer.

As time passed and the lines settled more naturally, she received many compliments like ‘Your eyes look like they were originally this beautiful’ rather than ‘It looks like you had surgery.’ 😊
