How Much Do You Know About No-Implant Rhinoplasty?
Learn about no-implant rhinoplasty using autologous tissues like ear cartilage, septal cartilage, and rib cartilage for natural, safe results at VIBE Plastic Surgery.

Hello.
This is VIBE Plastic Surgery.

One of the most popular cosmetic procedures recently is
‘no-implant rhinoplasty’.
Many people prefer it because it can improve the shape of the nose
using only autologous (self-derived) tissues without any artificial implants.
Perhaps that is why many patients visiting our clinic for consultations
look for no-implant options with fewer side effects
rather than undergoing surgery with artificial materials.

What is No-Implant Rhinoplasty?
No-implant rhinoplasty utilizes autologous tissues.
Generally, septal cartilage harvested from inside the nose,
ear cartilage from the ears,
rib (costal) cartilage from the rib area,
and autologous dermis harvested from the buttocks or behind the ears
are used for this procedure.
Ear Cartilage
Ear cartilage has characteristics similar to the cartilage at the tip of the nose,
making it the most suitable material for creating a natural nasal tip shape.
Since it is harvested from the innermost part behind the ear,
which has almost no functional role, it does not place a significant burden on the body.
Furthermore, it is a highly preferred autologous tissue because it not only creates a natural shape
but also allows for natural movement, giving a feel similar to one’s original nose
while minimizing any artificial appearance.
Septal Cartilage
Septal cartilage is located in the center of the nasal cavity.
Since it is harvested from inside the nose,
no additional incisions in other parts of the body are required.
However, the amount of septal cartilage available varies from person to person.
In cases where it is difficult to harvest a sufficient amount,
additional artificial implants may be necessary.
Therefore, the use of this tissue should be decided after a thorough consultation with a plastic surgery specialist.
Rib (Costal) Cartilage
After making a 1.5 to 2 cm incision on the side of the ribs,
about 3 to 4 cm of internal cartilage is harvested for use.
Due to its high support and durability, it is mainly used to extend the nasal columella
or to define the shape, especially for low noses, short noses, or revision surgeries.
Rib cartilage is broadly divided into
autologous rib cartilage and donated rib cartilage.
Autologous rib cartilage refers to using
one’s own cartilage,
while donated rib cartilage refers to cartilage received from a donor.
After harvesting the rib cartilage from a human body,
it undergoes thorough chemical treatment and is processed
into a material that can be safely inserted into the human body.

Why Choose VIBE for No-Implant Rhinoplasty?
✔ Precise analysis and examination through 3D-CT
✔ Surgical planning based on the desired nose shape
✔ Resolving functional issues such as nasal congestion, deviated septum, and nasal valve stenosis
✔ Nasal tip lines with fewer side effects that do not sag over time
At VIBE, we harvest natural cartilage and carve it finely
to create a high and natural nasal bridge line.
The nasal tip does not sag over time, and because there are fewer side effects,
the results can be maintained for a long period.

Rhinoplasty results can vary depending on the materials used,
so a careful decision is required.
In the case of no-implant rhinoplasty, since only autologous tissues are used,
a surgical plan must be established after checking not only the condition of the nose
but also the condition of the cartilage before surgery.
If you are considering no-implant rhinoplasty, we recommend checking
whether the hospital is equipped with 3D-CT technology
and whether the medical staff has extensive clinical experience.
