Correcting Hump, Bulbous Tip, and Droopy Nose All at Once! Rhinoplasty at Vibe Plastic Surgery (Gangnam/Sinnonhyeon)
Learn how Vibe Plastic Surgery corrects humps, bulbous tips, and droopy noses to create a natural, sophisticated 'straight-semi-basal' line using autologous cartilage.

Hello.
I am Dr. Young-moon Yoo, Director of Vibe Plastic Surgery.
Lately, when I conduct nose consultations, there is a phrase I hear most often.
‘Not a nose that looks too flashy... just a naturally pretty one.’ ‘I want a sophisticated straight-semi-basal line that doesn’t look obvious.’
In particular, many patients bring references of a thin, clean, nearly straight-semi-basal line, much like NewJeans Minji’s nose.
The case I am introducing today is also a patient who wanted a 👉 natural yet vibe-enhancing ‘straight-semi-basal rhinoplasty’ rather than an excessive transformation.
✅ Pre-surgery Concerns
Female patient in her 20s
✔ Bumpy nasal bridge due to a hump
✔ Bulbous nose that looks wide
✔ Droopy nose tip pointing downward
✔ Dull nasolabial angle (giving the impression of protruding mouth)
✔ Overall stuffy and heavy impression
It wasn’t a case of the nose being low, but rather 👉 a case where the lines were not refined.
In such cases, the key is not just raising the height unconditionally, but ‘Refinement + Correction + Balance.’
✅ Surgical Goals
The patient’s desired direction was clear.
✔ A straight-semi-basal line close to a straight line
✔ Naturalness without being excessive
✔ A sophisticated image
✔ A look that doesn’t scream ‘I had surgery’
In short, unconditionally ‘High Nose’ ❌ / ‘Pretty-lined Nose’ ⭕
Therefore, I focused on these three design points: 👉 Slim + Straight + Appropriate Tip Point.
✅ Surgical Method
1️⃣ Hump Correction + Bridge Line Refinement
After removing the protruding hump to make the bumpy bridge smooth,
I used 👉 only a very thin implant on the bridge.
Since excessive height looks artificial, I used the minimum amount to ‘just slightly refine the line.’
The current trend is a naturally refined nose line rather than a high nose.
2️⃣ Nose Tip – Using Autologous Cartilage (Septal & Ear Cartilage)
For the tip, I did not use any implants and proceeded 👉 only with autologous cartilage (septal & ear cartilage).
The reasons are clear:
✔ Natural feel
✔ Reduced risk of contracture/foreign body sensation
✔ Long-term safety
✔ High degree of freedom in shape design
✔ Prevention of drooping
In particular, septal cartilage acts as a very stable support for correcting a droopy tip and forming the straight-semi-basal angle. Ear cartilage was added to create natural volume and detail.
3️⃣ Nasolabial Angle Correction
One of the biggest reasons a nose tip looks droopy is 👉 a dull nasolabial angle. By appropriately raising the nasolabial angle:
✔ The mouth appears less protruding
✔ A sophisticated side profile is completed
✔ Creates a more youthful image
✔ Increases three-dimensionality
Though it is a small change in angle, it is the point that has the greatest effect on improving the impression.

✅ Post-surgery Changes
✔ Smooth straight line on the bridge
✔ Improvement of the bulbous tip to a slimmer look
✔ Naturally lifted nose tip
✔ Sophisticated straight-semi-basal silhouette
✔ Clean impression from both front and side
✅ Highly recommended for those who!
✔ Want to correct a hump nose
✔ Are concerned about a bulbous or wide nose tip
✔ Want to improve a droopy tip or a ‘long nose’ feel
✔ Desire a straight-semi-basal line like NewJeans Minji
✔ Want a natural result for their first rhinoplasty
✅ Vibe Plastic Surgery’s Rhinoplasty Principles
I do not think of rhinoplasty as simply a ‘surgery to raise the nose.’
👉 I consider it a design surgery that balances the entire face.
✔ Avoid excessive height
✔ Safe surgery focused on autologous cartilage
✔ Structural integrity that doesn’t droop over time
✔ Pursuit of natural and sophisticated lines
✔ A nose that remains pretty as time passes
A nose that doesn’t look awkward even 10 years later—that is truly successful rhinoplasty.
Closing
Hump, bulbous tip, droopy tip, dull nasolabial angle...
Refining just these four things can significantly change one’s impression.
A nose with a beautiful line is much more elegant than a simply high nose.
If you are considering straight-semi-basal rhinoplasty, your first rhinoplasty, or natural rhinoplasty, I hope you choose the method that suits you best after a thorough consultation.
Thank you.
