Endoscopic Forehead Lift vs. Double Eyelid Surgery: Which One Do I Need? feat. Vibe Plastic Surgery
Confused about whether you need double eyelid surgery or an endoscopic forehead lift? Learn how to distinguish between the two and why Vibe Plastic Surgery's Fix-Up Ptosis Correction might be the answer.

Hello.
This is Vibe Plastic Surgery.
When receiving a consultation for double eyelid surgery or revision eye surgery,
have you ever been recommended an endoscopic forehead lift or ptosis correction?
You might have experienced this at least once.

If you are recommended a surgery you hadn’t considered,
you might feel flustered and immediately wonder, ‘Is this overtreatment?’
So today, we want to explain why both double eyelid surgery and endoscopic forehead lifts are sometimes necessary.
I went in for double eyelid surgery, but they recommended an endoscopic forehead lift?

If you go in for a consultation only thinking about double eyelid surgery
and get recommended an endoscopic forehead lift,
you might be curious about what kind of surgery it is since it’s unfamiliar,
and the cost difference might give you a lot to think about.
✔️ If the distance between your eyes and eyebrows is narrow
✔️ If there is sagging in the forehead and eyebrows themselves
People in these categories may be candidates for an endoscopic forehead lift.
If you think you fall into these categories,
learning about endoscopic forehead lifts in advance will help you
feel less flustered during your consultation, so please keep this in mind.
Ptosis Correction? Endoscopic Forehead Lift? Which surgery is better?
What is Ptosis Correction?
This is a surgery performed to improve the strength of the muscles that open the eyes
when the eyelid muscles are weak, making it difficult to open the eyes fully.
What is an Endoscopic Forehead Lift?
This surgery is performed to address concerns such as forehead and glabellar (between the brows) wrinkles,
droopy eyelids that make one look tired or aged,
or a narrow, wrinkled space between the eyes and eyebrows.

However, during a consultation,
you might be recommended both of these surgical methods.
Why recommend both surgeries?
Some people have weak eye-opening strength and try to open their eyes wider
by using their forehead muscles.
In such cases, if only ptosis correction is performed,
the eye-opening strength improves, and the forehead that was previously strained
relaxes and drops down. When this happens, the eyebrows descend,
narrowing the gap between the brows and eyes,
which can create a stuffy or fierce impression.
Therefore, an endoscopic forehead lift must be performed together to prevent the eyebrows from dropping.
Conversely, for someone with weak eye-opening strength
who has been lifting their forehead to see,
if only an endoscopic forehead lift is performed,
the forehead becomes taut after surgery,
and the habit of using the forehead to open the eyes can no longer function.
Because the eye-opening strength is not compensated for at all,
performing only the forehead lift can make the eyes look sleepier
and make opening the eyes feel more difficult than before surgery.
In these cases, ptosis correction must be performed simultaneously.
A TIP for those with the concerns mentioned above!

If you look in the mirror at home and slightly lift your eyebrows,
and you think, ‘I look brighter and it suits me better,’
then your satisfaction level with an endoscopic forehead lift is likely to be high.
