Male Short Nose Rhinoplasty

• Male in his 20s
• Low and short nasal bridge
• Uneven nasal line due to a dorsal hump

* Consultation

1. The patient was highly stressed by the uneven line caused by a combination of a low bridge and a dorsal hump.

2. This was a case where the nose appeared relatively short due to a protruding mouth structure.

3. Fortunately, the septal cartilage was sufficient in size and strength. However, since the skin was tight with little elasticity, we planned to raise the nose moderately using autologous cartilage without overextending the tissues.

Bridge Rhinoplasty (Hump reduction, silicone implant)

Tip Rhinoplasty (Extension graft using septal cartilage + Ear cartilage: Onlay graft)

* Post-operative Progress

1. Before visiting our clinic, the patient had consulted at several other hospitals. He arrived feeling discouraged because he was told surgery wasn’t recommended as there wouldn’t be a significant change. However, after I thoroughly explained the surgical method and the expected post-operative shape, we proceeded, and he was delighted with the highly satisfying results.

2. Luckily, the septum was straight and had sufficient size and strength, allowing us to achieve great results with autologous cartilage. As expected, the skin lacked elasticity, so we focused on the line refinement without overstretching the area.

3. By raising the nose, his facial profile became more masculine and sophisticated. We also achieved a ‘two birds with one stone’ effect by improving the appearance of his protruding mouth. ^^
