Rhinoplasty for Men: Short Nose and Hump Correction
Case study of a male patient in his 20s undergoing rhinoplasty for a short nose and hump, achieving a masculine straight profile.

- Very low bridge with a hump
- Short and bulbous nasal tip
* Consultation
1. The patient visited due to a very low bridge and short nose, which made his face appear wide and flat, similar to a ‘concave dish’.
2. We planned to improve the bulbous appearance and create a more refreshing, straight nasal line.
3. To improve the wide appearance from the front, we decided to perform osteotomy and alar reduction simultaneously.

1. Bridge Rhinoplasty: Silicone implant, hump correction, osteotomy
2. Tip Rhinoplasty: Septal cartilage (septal extension graft, columellar strut), ear cartilage (onlay graft)

1. The patient was very satisfied, not only with the sharp and masculine bridge line but also with the added dimension to his previously flat face.
2. Short nose surgery can be improved by sufficiently dissecting the skin and cartilage to extend the length, then creating a strong support structure to prevent it from reverting.
3. The nasolabial angle (the angle between the columella and the philtrum) created through columellar adjustment is crucial in shaping the nasal tip. This angle alone determines whether the nose looks long or short!
4. As expected, the nose is the centerpiece for men! It reminded me once again that a great nose can completely transform one’s impression. Haha.
