VIBE Medical Specialties

Dr. Young-moon Yoo of VIBE Plastic Surgery discusses his philosophy on harmonious facial plastic surgery, focusing on eyes, nose, and overall facial balance.

VIBE Medical Specialties

Hello.

I am Dr. Young-moon Yoo, Director of VIBE Plastic Surgery.

Today, I would like to talk about the medical specialties at VIBE Plastic Surgery, specifically which surgeries I am passionate about and primarily perform.

I pursue ‘harmonious plastic surgery’ of the face.

And I believe the core of facial plastic surgery lies in the eyes and the nose.

It may sound cliché,

but they say the eyes are the window to the soul. Haha.

You can grasp a person’s overall impression just by looking at their eyes,

and you can predict their emotional state just by looking at them.

Therefore, I believe the eyes are undoubtedly the most important feature in determining a person’s ‘vibe’.

Furthermore, eye surgery is not just about looking at the eyes themselves;

understanding the relationship between the eyebrows and the eyes is crucial.

You may have heard of cases where someone underwent ptosis correction because of weak eye-opening muscles,

only to have their eyebrows drop and their upper eyelids become puffy.

In such cases, it is important to perform an endoscopic forehead lift or brow lift to prevent the eyebrows from dropping too low. Thus, it is correct to consider forehead lift surgery (which adjusts the position of the eyebrows) as part of eye surgery in a broader sense.

The nose is located right in the center of our face.

And we refer to this single nose by many different names based on its shape:

Hump nose

Long nose

Short nose (upturned nose)

Deviated nose

Wide nose

Bulbous nose, and so on.

As such, noses are classified in various ways (and it is actually more complex because these traits often appear in combination).

Addressing these issues appropriately is both the role and the challenge of a plastic surgeon.

Also, rhinoplasty cannot be viewed in isolation. Since we must consider the line that connects from the forehead to the nose and down to the tip of the chin, it is not enough for just the nose to be pretty; harmony with other areas is vital.

That is why we sometimes perform fat grafting or implant surgery for the forehead and chin together. For those with a blunt jawline, we also improve the facial shape through double chin or jawline liposuction and buccal fat removal.

While my primary specialties are the eyes and nose, I pursue harmonious plastic surgery based on an understanding of all surrounding areas, including the forehead, cheeks, and chin.

I believe this is the right approach to facial plastic surgery.

I will do my best to help you find your own unique VIBE

through the harmonious plastic surgery I envision.

Thank you. ^^
