If inflammatory symptoms such as swelling, heat, and tenderness are not severe, the condition often improves with antibiotic treatment alone.

However, if the inflammation has already progressed significantly (for example, severe swelling accompanied by pus), it may be necessary to make a small incision for antibiotic irrigation. In more advanced cases, the implants and grafted cartilage must be removed to allow the inflammation to subside first, followed by revision surgery after at least six months have passed.

Therefore, if you suspect any signs of inflammation, rather than thinking ‘it will be fine,’ the most important thing is to visit the clinic where you had your surgery early on to receive an examination.
