Q. Reviews say I might feel nauseous and have a headache for two days after a forehead lift. Is this due to the anesthesia?

A) Hello, I am Young-moon Yu, the representative director of Vibe Plastic Surgery, here for a 1-minute plastic surgery update.

Today, I will address the question: ‘I have seen reviews saying people feel nauseous and have headaches for two days after a forehead lift. Is this because of the anesthesia?’

To get straight to the point, it is not because of the anesthesia. The most common symptom reported by those who undergo a forehead lift is actually nausea. Surprisingly, not many people complain about significant pain.

The reason we use an endoscope during a forehead lift is to perform dissection without damaging muscles, blood vessels, and specifically the supraorbital and supratrochlear nerves. These two nerves originate from the bone inside the eyebrows and travel upward, responsible for most of the sensation in the forehead and scalp. Since we operate while viewing through an endoscope, there is no risk of damaging these nerves; however, you can think of the nausea as being caused by these nerves being stretched for about 2 to 3 days.

1-minute completion. 1-minute plastic surgery. This was Director Young-moon Yu.
