Dr. Amadi, a renowned plastic surgeon from Seattle, visited JK Plastic Surgery to exchange knowledge on Asian blepharoplasty and advanced surgical techniques.
One day in the new year of 2020,
a precious guest from Seattle, USA,
visited JK Plastic Surgery.

Looking at his CV,
he is a brilliant individual who trained in ‘Ophthalmology’ at New York University School of Medicine,
‘Ophthalmic Pathology and Oncology’ at Harvard Medical School,
and ‘Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’ at the University of Washington.
Currently, he is a highly skilled and famous physician leading his own aesthetic plastic surgery clinic in Seattle.
So, why did he visit JK Plastic Surgery??
To be honest, I haven’t had many opportunities to engage in academic discussions with someone from Harvard Medical School (whether a graduate or trainee), so I was a bit surprised and even a little nervous. ^^;;
The reason for his visit was that,
over the past few years, his number of Asian clients has been increasing.
As he lacked extensive experience in this specific area,
he had many questions and felt there was room for improvement in his results.
To learn the knowledge and experience required for Asian eye surgery,
he sought out JK Plastic Surgery, which is already well-known in the United States!
Isn’t it amazing?!!
His effort and passion for learning!
And also, the recognition of JK Plastic Surgery in the US.
Before observing the surgeries,
he had a meeting with Chief Director Joo Kwon.
Since Dr. Kim Sung-sik and I had eye surgeries scheduled for that day,
we had the opportunity to discuss techniques while he observed the procedures.
He also engaged in a discussion with Dr. Kim Sung-sik regarding surgical methods for Asian eyes.
He observed my surgeries that day (Endoscopic Forehead Lift, Incisional/Non-incisional Ptosis Correction, Lower Blepharoplasty, and Mid-face Lift), and we had a valuable time sharing our knowledge.
He came so well-prepared,
pinpointing all the essential details!
He asked questions that were humble yet sharp.
I did my best to answer in my limited English; I hope the message was conveyed clearly. :)
After finishing all the surgeries and before saying goodbye,
we took a commemorative photo.
I hope this visit was
a great experience and very helpful for him.
