When a cavity has progressed this deep into the gum,

after thorough root canal treatment,

the gum is appropriately reshaped during the subsequent prosthetic treatment

to make it easier to fabricate and manage.

In this case, the structure of the root canal was not extremely

complex,

but because the size of each root canal was very large,

it was challenging to measure the length, thickness, and size of the root canals

during the root canal treatment.

Therefore, we paid extra attention to disinfecting the inside of the root canal.

We went through a process of more clearly confirming several ambiguous root canals using X-rays, even with the measuring device.

If this tooth hadn't developed a cavity and hadn't required treatment,

the fully impacted wisdom tooth next to it wouldn't have needed extraction either.

However,

for the prosthetic treatment of this tooth,

the wisdom tooth was in an obstructive position,

and for long-term ease of management, the wisdom tooth was also extracted,

and the prosthetic treatment was completed.

After completing the treatment,

the patient came for a regular check-up after a long time.

The root canal treatment and prosthetic treatment were cleanly completed,

and the area where the wisdom tooth was extracted next to it shows no trace,

with the bone fully filled in.

Since it was deeply impacted,

the patient experienced some pain during the extraction,

but seeing it recovered like this,

I was grateful for their good cooperation with the treatment.

Now, the patient regularly visits with their family

for simple maintenance and check-ups like scaling.

The dentist's office is always a place that feels

somehow scary and reluctant to visit when you're in pain,

but while it's important to treat cavities correctly when they occur,

it's even more important to correct problems early through preventive treatment,
