Can asymmetrical eyes be corrected without asymmetrical eye correction surgery?

Hello,

I'm Kim Sung-hoon, a board-certified plastic surgeon and 'face designer'.

This time, I will explain how to correct asymmetrical eyes without undergoing asymmetrical eye correction surgery. You might think this sounds like sophistry, but I will explain it step by step.

No one's face is perfectly symmetrical. Similarly, the left and right eyes are always slightly different. However, if the asymmetry is severe and noticeable, most people are advised to undergo asymmetrical eye correction.

Commonly, asymmetrical eye correction is recommended as ptosis correction to match the size of the left and right eyes. However, ptosis correction is the most extensive eyelid surgery, or in other words, the most destructive surgery. Is it impossible to make asymmetrical eyes look similar without ptosis correction?

When the client's right eye is smaller

As shown in the photo above, if the client's right eye is smaller, what should be considered during double eyelid surgery to make the asymmetry less noticeable? Making the double eyelid crease on the smaller eye even smaller can reduce the feeling of asymmetry.

Design during surgery

Most people think that a larger double eyelid crease should be created for a smaller eye.

Even a low double eyelid looks large

Because one must think this way, a smaller double eyelid crease should be designed for the smaller eye to make both sides look similar.

Although the left and right eye sizes are different, they now have a similar appearance. As such, asymmetrical eye correction is possible even without ptosis correction (asymmetrical eye correction).

I will always strive to be a plastic surgeon who is honest and does not exaggerate.

Thank you.
