meaning multiple teeth often need treatment.

Therefore, before undergoing veneer treatment for multiple teeth, some patients opt for resin treatment to first restore only the gapped space, followed by a simulation phase to evaluate tooth shape, and then proceed with veneer treatment later.

Tooth gapping due to weakened periodontium

The patient was a mother in her 60s.

Her teeth were slightly gapped originally,

but over time, her periodontium weakened,

and the gaps between her teeth widened further.

Plaque control was difficult in the gapped spaces,

and calculus accumulation was also observed.

The patient was satisfied with the shape of her other teeth

and only wanted to restore the gap in the middle,

so we performed a treatment to fill the gapped space using resin.

Naturally, there was no tooth reduction at all,

and the empty spaces were filled using resin.

Actually, the patient

was hesitant about treating the lower gap, which was smaller than the upper one, but after treatment,

she was very satisfied with the photos of her filled teeth

and said she would actively consider

overall veneer treatment to change tooth shape or color in the future.

Even a small space

in the front teeth can lead to a dramatic difference before and after treatment,

even changing one's unconscious smile.

The gums, which had receded due to the gapped teeth,

will fill in the empty spaces over time,

and future check-ups may be needed to adjust tooth color or shape.

Treatment for front teeth with crack lines

A vertical crack line is observed on the central incisor.

The patient initially visited not for this purpose

but for scaling and maintenance,

and then became concerned about the crack line on her front tooth and wondered about possible treatments.

When deciding which teeth to treat in aesthetic dentistry, it is important

to include the teeth that need treatment

as well as symmetrical teeth when deciding on veneers or crowns

to easily control shape, color, and gum level.

However,

this patient

had weakened periodontium, and slight tooth mobility was observed,

indicating a possibility of tooth extraction over time.

Nevertheless, since the tooth was not expected to be lost in the immediate future,

and the crack line in the middle of the largest central incisor was very noticeable, doing nothing was not an option.

So, we decided to cover only that part using resin.

We lightly trimmed only the cracked area and used resin

to cover the crack line.

Although the resin color is slightly visible to cover the crack line,

compared to before, a much more natural color and shape can be seen.

Aesthetic treatment can be chosen in consultation with the patient,

considering each individual's tooth condition and situation.
