the case I'm introducing today involves a completely impacted wisdom tooth that absolutely needs to be extracted for implant surgery.

I have a pus pocket in my gums, but it doesn't hurt.

The lower left tooth, which had undergone root canal treatment in the past, had inflammation around its root.

The condition of the previously root-canaled tooth made re-root canal treatment impossible, so extraction and implant placement were diagnosed.

There was already visible destruction of the alveolar bone around the tooth, and the inflammation was dissolving the bone, forming a pus pocket externally.

Because the root was thick and curved at the end, we had no choice but to section the tooth for extraction.

We took X-rays periodically and carefully checked the tooth's condition during the extraction.

The extraction space was too large.

We did not perform immediate bone grafting (alveolar bone grafting) as usual, but rather performed it after the soft tissue had recovered.

How long do I have to wait for surgery after extraction??

It took more than 6 months for the space of two teeth to recover for surgery.

After waiting for more than 6 months,

fortunately, we were able to place the implant in the desired position.

Now, all that remains is to wait for the implant and surrounding bone to integrate.
